Since Kawhi Leonard went down, the Warriors have outscored the Spurs 130 to 77. No one can deny that Leonard going down did not have an impact on this turnaround. Even Steph Curry’s strong performances can be attributed to Tony Parker’s absence.
Regardless, Gregg Popovich is not pleased with the Spurs’ lackluster performance. He also isn’t thrilled that his superstar isn’t available to play, tonight. Despite coaching Bruce Bowen, Popovich is livid with what happened and he wants Zaza Pachulia’s head for it.
Gregg Popovich caught up with Doris Burke at the end of the first quarter. Briefly, they talked about the Spurs’ struggles, which have them currently down 72-48, as of halftime. He simply said the Spurs need to play better, which is so obvious it should inspire them to do something.
