Frenchie sentenced to 12 years for felony burglary charges
Many remember Frenchie as one of Gucci Mane‘s early artists that he signed to 1017 Records. Around 2008-2011, the Queens, NY rapper was one of the label’s underrated artists. Frenchie appeared on many of Gucci’s mixtapes, including the hit single, “Shirt Off.”
However, Frenchie has now encountered some very serious legal issues, that are putting him in prison for a very long time. According to Patch, he has been sentenced to 12 years in prison. This is as a result of him reportedly being involved in a burglary. Frenchie was convicted of three counts of first-degree burglary and one count of second-degree burglary. Frenchie was also ordered to serve five years of post-supervision. His sentencing was held on Thursday.
Three other men were involved in this burglary, which were Donte Thomas, 24, Hakim Muhammad, 20, and Miguel Ruiz, 29. At the time, they believed they were invading a cannabis and money stash house. However, it turned out to be a regular family, which were a mother father, and an 18-year-old autistic son living there. The son was also pistol-whipped, after refusing to lay on the ground. As a result, he sustained facial cuts and bruises.
Frenchie’s legal team, attorney Anthony Scheller, attempted to argue that he was sitting in the car, and wasn’t involved in the burglary. Therefore, there may be a possibility of an appeal being filed.
