Gunna still distributed $100k in gift cards to families, after Walmart canceled his 5th Annual Great Giveaway event, over security concerns

Gunna gives out $100,000 in gift cards after canceled charity event

Last weekend, Gunna was scheduled to host his 5th annual Great Giveaway event, to help families for the holidays. This was supposed to be held at a Walmart location in College Park, GA, but soon got canceled. This was due to security concerns, following Gunna’s recent release from jail. 1,000 families were supposed to receive gift cards, in partnership with Goodr.

“Gunna and the entire Goodr team were looking forward to brightening the holidays of the 1,000 families that registered,” a statement read. “We are aware of how much the promised gifts meant to those families and we are collectively working to find an alternate solution. Registered families will be updated about the event’s status. Goodr apologizes for any inconvenience this unexpected turn of events has caused.”

However, these families were still able to be supported. According to Jasmine Crowe, Goodr’s founder and CEO, she revealed that Gunna still went on to give out $100,000 worth of gift cards.

“I wanted to inform you that we contacted all 1,000 families this week. Working with the City Of South Fulton, every family received their gift cards and gifts today. It’s important to note this event is in its 5th year. Since 2018, we have worked with Gunna to host his $100K Christmas Giveaway — this was not a first-time event.”

Gunna was released from prison last week, after entering a plea deal. This was for one count of RICO conspiracy. He also admitted that YSL is a gang. Others did so as well, such as YSL Co-Founder Walter Murphy and artists Slimelife Shawty and Lil Duke.
