A couple of times, Gunplay has managed to build his buzz to a very high level. He is one of the original Maybach Music members and came up with Rick Ross in Miami, but none of this means much. This is due to Gunplay’s inability to secure a release date with Def Jam for his long-awaited debut album.
When Hip Hop Vibe talked to Gunplay, back in 2012, he was in the middle of his mixtape promotions. His mixtape promotions were the setup for him to put out his debut album, but legal woes hindered him. Once he overcame his legal issues, Gunplay continued to receive album delays.
It’s not a stretch to think that his name had a little something to do with the album delays, so it should come as no shock that Gunplay made a change. Already, Gunplay goes by the nickname, Don Logan, so it fits him. This evening, Gunplay took to Twitter to reveal he has chosen Don Logan as his new stage name.
