H.E.R. Wins First Oscar For Best Original Song For “Fight For You” From “Judas and The Black Messiah” Soundtrack

H.E.R. continues to be one of the best R&B artists in the world as she has a lot of momentum right now with her “Come Through” single featuring Chris Brown. She also finally has her long-awaited debut studio album, “Back Of My Mind,” on the way. Now, the Bay Area native has added another impressive award to her resume.
H.E.R. took home the award for Best Original Song at the 93rd Annual Academy Awards. This was for her “Fight For You” song from the “Judas And The Black Messiah” movie soundtrack. This film was released in early February as it told the story of Fred Hampton and the Black Panther party.
Judas and The Black Messiah scored another huge win at the Oscars tonight and that was for Daniel Kaluuya, who played the role of Fred Hampton. He went home with the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
As for H.E.R., she also won a Grammy in March. This was for Best Song as that was given to her “I Can’t Breathe” single. That was released last June as it addressed injustices such as racism and police brutality. That was in the midst of the nationwide protests in the US after George Floyd’s murder by Derek Chauvin of the Minneapolis PD.
