Halle gives emotional speech at Essence Hollywood event 

As Women’s International Month begins, a special ceremony took place honoring some of Hollywoods most influential women. Essence Magazine held their 17th Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards yesterday at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. Amongst those honored were Halle Bailey, for her incredible work in film, music and television. As she received her award she gave an emotional speech about keeping the birth of her son a secret.

The new mommy is enjoying motherhood after giving birth to her son Halo, who she shares with boyfriend DDG. Although speculations about her pregnancy quickly spread, Halle never publicly confirmed any of the rumors. Despite keeping her personal life private, Halle continues to dominate film and music. After starring in the 2023 remake of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, she was a leading character in the remake of The Color Purple. In addition to her amazing film roles, her debut single “Angel” topped multiple Billboard charts.

Halle is already planning big things for 2024 with her new single “In Your Hands” expected to release March 15th. During her acceptance speech, Halle shares how special being a mother is. She also elaborates on why she chose to keep her pregnancy and family private.
