When talking about the future of hip hop, Charles Hamilton’s name was mentioned at the top. In 2008, Hamilton was featured in many “who’s got next” sections in many hip hop sites.
When 2009 came in, though, Charles Hamilton was lost in the rubble after the emergence of Kid Cudi and Drake. No album came from Hamilton, only controversy.
During his tenure at Interscope Records, Charles Hamilton was probably best-known for his feud with his label-mate, Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em. He dissed the teen rapper because of his appearance.
The feud was ended, but Soulja Boy is the label’s most marketable star. The last thing Interscope needs is one of their no-name rappers taking shots at their biggest star. The label has been involved in many rumors, as of late, and they are now rumored to have dropped Charles Hamilton from their roster.
Charles Hamilton was signed on the label through Eminem’s Shady Records.
