Recently, J. Holiday dropped his Guilty Conscience album, which is his first release in five years. This album follows up 2009’s Round 2 and since then, there have been a lot of other R&B artists to emerge. The game goes through a lot of transitions and the current shift sees a focus back towards R&B.
J. Holiday kept himself going with his mixtape releases in between albums, so it was only right for him to drop a new album during this recent upswing. When J. Holiday had his run, he had two major hits in “Bed” and “Suffocate.” Outside of this, Fat Joe also recruited J. Holiday for his “I Won’t Tell” single.
When J. Holiday last visited Los Angeles, he took time out to talk to Hip Hop Vibe, affording us the chance to meet up. During our interview, J. Holiday talked about the Guilty Conscience album and everything that led him to this point of putting the album out independently. J. Holiday also spoke on the current R&B movement, and much more.
