Throughout his career, Laz Alonso has been a part of many films, Jumping the Broom, and appeared in many TV shows. Just mentioning a few of his shows, there is “CSI: Miami,” and “Southland.” But, Laz Alonso recently got into controversy, early this year.
The controversy stemmed from Amara La Negra, the breakout star of new VH1 series, “Love & Hip Hop Miami.” She sparked a huge debate about colorism, which a lot of people didn’t understand. When she went on “The Breakfast Club,” Laz Alonso called Charlamagne out.
When Hip-HopVibe.com was at theĀ Traffik junket, Laz Alonso sat down with us. The conversation turned to colorism, as Laz Alonso described the whole “Afro-Latino/Latina” heritage, using the states in America as an example, while shouting out Amara La Negra and Mona Scott-Young. He also spoke on his role, in the movie.
