For various reasons, Lil Lody has remained at the forefront of the mixtape game. There is a lot going on with the rising artist/producer, with a major focus on his upcoming mixtape, The Theory 2. Lil Lody has big plans for the game this summer with his releases.

Lil Lody is working on his new mixtape, The Theory 2. Earlier this month, Lil Lody released his first single off the project, “Attention.” The song was a success and it built anticipation for the upcoming mixtape, The Theory 2. This week, fans expected to hear this new mixtape for the first time, but ultimately, Lil Lody decided to delay the project.

With so much surrounding the Lil Lody brand, and his own solo work, Hip Hop Vibe reached out to Lil Lody for an update. Speaking to us this afternoon for a brief interview, Lil Lody talked about the coming and going with CTE. During the interview, Lil Lody also spoke on the success of his popular single, “Attention,” and The Theory 2.

Read the entire interview below:

Can you tell us a little bit about what is going on at CTE? True story, I’m not even signed to CTE, so I cannot speak on the situation.

Right now, Freddie Gibbs has a lot to say about the CTE movement, will anyone from the crew respond to him? I really don’t know. I haven’t talked to anyone from the crew, I am moving on my own and looking for my own situation.

What is this new situation you are working on? I got the mixtape in the works, The Theory 2. I just did some new beats for Starlito, Young Jeezy, and Yo Gotti. There is a lot of stuff I have in the works.

With one member leaving the label, another one has joined, can you talk about YG joining CTE? I am not around CTE like that, but me and Young Jeezy are close like brothers. But, on the business end, I don’t know anything about YG joining the label, we worked together, me and Jeezy, but no paperwork. I have a direct link for my stuff.

“Attention” has become a successful single, have you thought about doing a Young Jeezy and YG remix? I might shoot it to them, but right now I am only focused on pushing the record on my own. If I want to make it bigger, I might link up with them and promote something bigger.

How do you feel about the success of “Attention?” It’s doing pretty well, got the video for it coming out. I’m out of town shooting scenes for it. We’re going to put that out soon.

Will you have another single coming off The Theory 2 before the mixtape’s official release? Yeah, I got a big single coming called “Why They Hatin.” This single might be the one, right here, I feel very good about it.

Why did you push the mixtape back? Because I have still been recording songs and mixing and mastering. Also, I had personal issues to come up that ended up pushing things back until July 9. I gave myself time to get this tape out to Bigga Rankin and the other hosts.

Who are some of the people you are working with on The Theory 2I got production from a lot of up-and-coming producers, I am giving them the chance that was given to me. People like Eldorado Red and Criminal Mane appear on the project, so stay tuned for that. The song with Red is called “Put in Work.”

Will you have any surprise guests on the upcoming mixtape? Yeah, but you said it best, it’s a surprise. I am not going to give much away, but it is all new songs, you have never heard any of this before.

In closing, once again, can you give us your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram so fans can follow you?  My Twitter is @LodyLucci, Instagram is @LilLody, and my Facebook is Lody Luciano and I also have a fan page for people to like.
