HHV Exclusive: The 5 speaks on unifying New York rappers, personality types, Gucci Mane, and more

Hip hop has reverted back to how it was in the 1990s in terms of crews coming out and having success. The 1990s introduced the Wu-Tang Clan, The L.O.X., Jurassic 5, and many more. Those eras introduced such names as Jadakiss and Method Man to the game and they have remained strong fixtures.

Now, 2013 has produced The 5, which consists rappers from the five different boroughs of New York City. In the late summer, The 5 released their “You Ain’t Never” single with Gucci Mane, making a big impression on the game. The 5 also has a mixtape with DJ Drama.

The 5 recently took time out to talk to Hip Hop Vibe and they discussed their position in the game. Yung Stat, G.Light, Gwapo, Adolane, and Fasho are the members of The 5 and they spoke on New York rappers, linking with Gucci Mane, and their next mixtape with DJ Scream and DJ Swamp Izzo. Definite major players in the game.
