This week is another great week and what made this week stick out from the rest was the chance to talk to a legend. Many people like Salt-N-Pepa and the element they brought to the game in the late 1980s, early 1990s, hip hop element. Few, however, know Spinderella was not the first DJ for the group.
Before Spinderella was The Original Spinderella, who only gained her full moniker after the success of Salt-N-Pepa. Years after Salt-N-Pepa’s run came and went, there is still The Original Spindarella doing her thing. She recently took time out to grace the audience of Hip Hop Vibe with her presence and it was an honor.
The Original Spindarella talked to Hip Hop Vibe earlier this week and she was open, giving us a long interview. Being the one to talk to her was amazing, as the original Spindarella talked about how Salt-N-Pepa came together and her relationship with DJ Kool Herc. She also spoke on hip hop’s early days and her future.
