One of the most-enthusiastic figures on the “New West” Los Angeles hip hop scene is a young man named Young Dinero. Traveling back and forth between Houston and Los Angeles, Young Dinero is no stranger to major deals. At one point, Young Dinero was a member of Ice Age Ent., but has since moved on.
Now, Young Dinero is signed to MC Eiht’s BlueStamp Music Group. Under this new record deal, Young Dinero released his mixtape, The Celebration. The project has been out over the past few weeks and it has done well for Young Dinero and he premiered the video for “The Intro” here on Hip Hop Vibe.
Hip Hop Vibe now has the chance to speak one-on-one with Young Dinero about everything in his world. Still, Young Dinero’s top focus remains his new project, The Celebration. During our interview, Young Dinero spoke on The Celebration and working with MC Eiht.
Read the entire interview below:
Can you talk about this new mixtape, The Celebration? Yeah. The Celebration is something different, showing my creativity, my imagination, and this is introducing me. This is an introduction more than a project to me.
You have done projects in the past, why do you feel this one is the “introduction?” The Celebration is the introduction because this is the real first step. All my other projects felt more like learning experiences and this one is me presenting myself to the mainstream world.
On this mixtape, you worked with MC Eiht, can you explain his input? MC Eiht is like an uncle to me and he co-signed this tape. We have business going on and he co-signed my work to let people know we are out here working. A lot of people know who he is and know how big it is to work with him and now he wants to let the world know what we are doing.
What projects do you and MC Eiht have in the works? Well, we have a couple mixtapes in the works and some other projects I don’t think I should name right now. But, I appear on his upcoming album, Which Way is West?, that is coming out.
Has the recording process already begun for The Celebration 2? Yes sir. It has.
Once again, what is it like to have this opportunity to work with MC Eiht on this and his stuff? Yeah. I will not lie, the feeling is unexplainable and it is also a blessing to work with a legend like that. Doing songs with him, hitting the road with him, appearing on his album, that is proof that I am doing something right.
Can you talk about the other collaborations on The Celebration? I got Fat Pimp, from Dallas, my homie Joe Young, who is out in Germany right now, and I believe he is signed to Game and working with Rick Ross. I have Killa Twan, who is working with Nipsey Hussle. On this project, I wanted to work with dudes who I knew were grinding like myself.
You have traveled back and forth between Los Angeles and Texas, correct? Yep.
What are the differences in the hip hop culture in these places and what did they bring to The Celebration? Texas and LA. Well, Texas gave me that vibe to the mixtape, it brought the strong vibe I needed to the mixtape. Then, me bring from LA brought more of my creative side out, showing how versatile I am. With most artists sharing similar sounds in both areas, but with me being in both areas with a different sound shows my focus.
