Sometimes, watch amateur basketball can be just as entertaining as the NBA. After all, there’s a chance a handful of these guys are the future NBA stars. During this game, one of the players took one of the plays into his own hands. By the way, he literally took this play into his own hands. Faced with some stiff defense, he threw a lob over his defender. After that, he jumped and caught it, dunking the ball.
In 2005, the NBA outlawed permitting high school players to go straight into the NBA. As a result, players had to attend at least one year of college. Originally, the NBA had that rule, but they abolished it when the ABA allowed players to declare for the draft right out of high school. The NBA has removed restrictions, allowing players to play abroad for a year and make money before doing the draft.
Whomever this kid is, he majorly increased his stock. Whether he does college, the G League, or an international league, he has a lot of attention. They always say that a good offense is a greater defense, but the NBA’s rule changes discount this. However, this guy’s offense was enough to put good defense to bed. He threw a lob over his defender, caught it, and dunked it all on his own.
