Hope everybody enjoyed their Memorial Weekend and they are enjoying Memorial Day, the world can use the time off apparently. But, for others, the grind does not stop and a day like today when people are resting is the perfect time to go hard. In between grinding yesterday, reruns of “Chappelle’s Show” came on, bringing back memories.
Hip Hop Vibe decided to spotlight “Chappelle’s Show,” since it was one of the funniest shows to hit television. Seven years after it went down, Dave Chappelle is still that dude, one of the funniest comedians ever. The hip hop audience already dealt with Chappelle, but it helped that all of the biggest artists stopped through.
“Chappelle’s Show” ran on Comedy Central from 2003 through 2006. Many of the biggest rappers in the game, including Lil Jon, Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe, Kanye West, Method Man, and Redman appeared on the show. When this program ran, everybody who followed hip hop followed Chappelle.
Back in the early 1990s, the older generation had “In Living Color.” But, the generation of today spent three years of their lives watching new episodes of “Chappelle’s Show.” Over the past seven years, this generation has been watching “Chappelle’s Show” on television reruns and on DVD. Without a doubt, Dave Chappelle’s self-titled “Chappelle’s Show” is television approved by the people in the hip hop world.
