Definitely, the NBA’s surprise team of this past season was the Charlotte Hornets. After enduring so many disappointing seasons, for so long, they were finally written off. Last offseason, the silently made moves that made them a contender.
Had they maintained a few of those twenty point leads, the Hornets could have easily won 50 games. Chock it up to being young, which is why they are retooling. Plus, they traded for a bunch of expiring contracts, already losing Jeremy Lin and Al Jefferson in free agency.
The Charlotte Hornets did score a major win in locking Nic Batum into a five year deal. However, they now need to make up two big losses, potentially three if Courtney Lee walks. With the Atlanta Hawks signing Dwight Howard, it looks like Al Horford, their franchise player, may not return and Hornets fans are campaigning him to come to Charlotte on Twitter.
