Two weeks ago, Hip Hop Vibe did Oakland Week and there was a profile on Sway Calloway, one of hip hop media’s biggest figures. Sway Calloway has remained on the cutting edge of hip hop media, working for many of the biggest outlets covering the biggest topics. Most know Sway for MTV, but he also does Shade 45.
“Sway in the Morning” has become a staple over the past few years and Grand Hustle is a major supporter both it and Sway, as a whole. Earlier this year, T.I. announced he and his company were leaving Atlantic Records and they have a new deal. Still, T.I. and company have had a big year.
They talked to Sway Calloway for Shade 45’s “Sway in the Morning” and T.I., B.o.B., Doe B, Young Dro, Shad Da God, and Big Kuntry King stopped by to talk. They spoke about the Epic Records deal, the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards, and more. T.I. confirmed he was not pleased with not having a Grand Hustle cypher.
