The recent rivalry in music is awakening the true rap and hip-hop lovers. Despite the Kendrick and Drake battle coming to an end, the conversation surrounding diss records is far from over. Recently, the legendary Ice Cube steps into the conversation speaking about one of his most memorable singles. As he performed at the California Roots Festival this past weekend, Ice Cube said his single “No Vaseline” is the best diss record of all time.

Ice Cube is a powerful name in the world of gangsta rap for multiple reasons. Before he embarked on his record breaking box office career, he was apart of the historical rap group N.W.A. Although finding major success with the group, Ice Cube eventually left due to creative differences. During that time Ice Cube’s solo career produced one of the biggest rap beefs music has ever seen. His 1991 solo album Death Certificate included the hit “No Vaseline”. That single targeted all members of N.W.A. including then manager Jerry Heller.

To date both Ice Cube and members of N.W.A. including Dr. Dre have assured the feud is over with. During Ice Cube’s performance he also referenced Nas’s “Ether” and Tupac’s “Hit’Em Up” as he spoke on iconic diss tracks. Check out the viral video here.
