The “tough-guy” persona Ice Cube has portrayed throughout his career has been balanced by his strong family life. Ice Cube’s relationship with his wife, Kim, has been displayed in the media as a strong couple. In his “Behind the Music” feature, Ice Cube displayed his family, formally introducing the world to his sons, who are also pursuing a career in hip hop.
Ice Cube spoke with Sway Calloway on Shade 45’s “Sway in The Morning” recently. The rapper-turned mogul discussed his family life and Dr. Dre’s Detox with the morning show. Ice Cube spoke on his former partner’s long-delayed album, providing his opinion on why the album has not come yet. In his own discography, Ice Cube is known for his AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted album.
AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted was heavily-inspired by East Coast hip hop, despite Ice Cube being from the West Coast. Aside from Dr. Dre, Ice Cube revealed his favorite producers were in New York and he reached out to them when Dr. Dre was not available. Ice Cube revealed he visited Def Jam offices searching for producers, running across Chuck D.
The breakout role, which led to Ice Cube building his legacy was arguably Boyz N The Hood, which Ice Cube also spoke on.
