Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj & Aqua’s “Barbie World” goes platinum
Over the past month and a half, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice and Aqua’s “Barbie World” has been one of the biggest records out. This collaboration appeared on the “Barbie” movie soundtrack, as that project debuted at number two in the US.
Furthermore, Barbie World has reached another major milestone. It has reached platinum eligibility in the US, after selling over 1 million units, according to Chart Data. In addition to it going platinum, it currently stands at number eight in the US, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Barbie World has also been one of two collaborations between Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj, in 2023. Back in April, Nicki appeared on the remix for Spice’s “Princess Diana” remix. That record initially appeared on Spice’s debut “Like..?” EP, in January. Spice has been one of the biggest breakout artists over the past year as well, as she went on to win Billboard’s 2023 R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Year Award in Los Angeles, this past week. Spice’s viral success initially began last August, with her “Munch (Feelin’ U)” single.
Meanwhile, Nicki’s first album since 2018 is also finally arriving on November 17. This is the sequel to her 2010 debut studio album, “Pink Friday.”
