Iggy Azalea announces new single amid Tory Lanez letter backlash

This past week, Iggy Azalea caught a lot of heat on social media, due to it being revealed that she wrote a letter of support for Tory Lanez to a judge. This came amid Tory’s sentencing, where he went on to receive 10 years in prison, for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. He was initially convicted of all three felony counts, back in December. Furthermore, Iggy defended herself, by explaining that she’d rather see Tory receive rehabilitative punishments, as opposed to results that throw his life away. Iggy also revealed to the judge that she still planned on having Tory executive produce her next album.

Meanwhile, it appears that Iggy is now taking advantage of the controversy, to create buzz  for new music. She has just taken to Twitter to reveal that a new single is arriving on August 25. This comes after fans on the platform anxiously asked for this release date.

It’s been a while since Iggy last released new music, as it dates back to July 2021. At the time, she dropped her “I Am The Strip Club” single. Later that year, Iggy also released her third studio album, “The End Of An Era.” That project contained 17 songs, including appearances from Tyga, BIA, and more.
