On Monday, Tory Lanez was scheduled to be sentenced, after being convicted of three felonies in his Megan Thee Stallion shooting trial, back in December. However, the sentencing ran past schedule, as Tory’s fate will be decided on Tuesday. Prosecutors are looking for the Toronto rapper to get hit with 10-13-years.
Meanwhile, it was also revealed that Tory received over 70 letters of support. According to legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, one of those came from Iggy Azalea. Furthermore, this letter reportedly stated that Iggy wanted a sentence “that is transformational, not life destroying.” Iggy’s support also comes amid previous plans of Tory executive producing her upcoming album.
As a result of it being revealed that Iggy wrote this letter to support Tory, she was met with immediate backlash online, especially on Twitter. Users cited how she mentioned before that she was a victim of abuse by Playboi Carti, so her supporting Tory is a very unusual move. As of now, Iggy has yet to address this latest development, on any of her social media feeds. This may likely be the case for a bit, due the ongoing backlash.
