One constant throughout hip hop has been the art of the beef. Over the course of hip hop history, rappers have launched their careers and have ended careers with beef. There are times when beef becomes oversaturated and times when it reaches unexpected heights, as it was with Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. and Ja Rule and 50 Cent.

Currently, several hip hop artists are involved in feuds, with numerous rappers fighting at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards. Rick Ross, Gunplay, Young Jeezy, and Mike Knox all wound up fighting at the awards show in Atlanta. Other rappers who have fought recently include the likes of Game and 2Eleven, of Young Jeezy’s CTE.

Vlad TV recently caught up with Immortal Technique, who gave his take on beef. The legendary rapper offered his opinion on the battling. Immortal Technique said he feels beef does not get rappers very far in hip hop. While he has risen to legendary status in the game, Immortal Technique managed to avoid getting involved in beef.
