The bigger the artist, the bigger the hate and few come much bigger than Drake, so he is always facing some sort of backlash. It is hard for the Young Money rapper because it’s obvious how much he wants acceptance from the old school. Drake is inspired by the legends and often pays homage.
This homage Drake always gives is a reason many dislike him, as they feel it does not come from a genuine place. When Drake released “Wu-Tang Forever,” it caused even more backlash, but Inspectah Deck stepped in to defend him. Voicing his defense of Drake via Twitter, Inspectah Deck co-signed Drake.
Unaware of what was fully going on, Inspectah Deck had nothing but positive things to say about Drake and his new record. Honored, Inspectah Deck checked “Wu-Tang Forever” out and he was disappointed. Inspectah Deck ended up going back on Twitter and taking the co-sign back.
Just like Drake said, no new friends.
