Irv Gotti drops rare gems on the music business, making hits, and Murder Inc. on Hot 97 [VIDEO]

When it comes to music, Irv Gotti knows about success. During the 1990s, Irv Gotti nearly single-handed saved Def Jam, when he brought them three consecutive game-changing artists. At his arrival, Def Jam was only home to LL Cool J and Public Enemy, of note.

However, Irv Gotti would bring Jay-Z, DMX, and Ja Rule to the roster, along with their respective labels. This led to an explosion of talent, adding to LL, Wu-Tang, and the others who were already there. When it was all said and done, the label also housed Ludacris and Fabolous.

Irv Gotti went through hardships, but he is coming off a win in “Tales,” his BET/TIDAL series. After speaking with Nessa, Irv Gotti also sat down with Ebro, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez at Hot 97. He talked about “Tales,” returning on October 10, his work with DMX, Jay-Z, and Ja Rule, the new Murder Inc., and more.
