Over the years, Irv Gotti has proven himself to be a powerful force in the music industry. In a three year span, he went from being DJ Irv, a friend of Jay Z with a Def Jam connection, to a partner in the company with his own label. Of course, there was the Ja Rule success.
But, Irv Gotti helped Jennifer Lopez become a star, along with Lil’ Mo and Ashanti, among others. Outside of them, Irv Gotti also produced for the likes of Jay Z, Nas, and Dr. Dre. A lot has changed, but much of it has also stayed the same.
Irv Gotti admitted the 50 Cent drama made him take time off from the industry. While music is no longer his main focus, Irv Gotti is still involved in the culture, doing his series, “Tales,” with BET and TIDAL. He is also shooting the Murder Inc. documentary and visited Jam Master Jay’s mural, yesterday, while filming.
