Let’s be honest, there hasn’t been a consistent “album a year” artist since Jay-Z and Ja Rule had their run, yes Ja Rule too. In the time since they ended their runs, a few artists have come close and Drake looked like he might be next. Drake released his first album in two years with Nothing Was The Same, but he hasn’t been anywhere.
Even if Drake didn’t release an album this year, he’d still be straight and would probably still be the artist of the year. But, Drake did release an album and it is currently making its way through cyberspace right now. Before this, Drake did join the “album a year” conversation and the best fix is to double up, right?
Seeing how late in the year it is, there’s no reason for Drake to drop an album so close to the Nothing Was The Same release. According to iHeart Radio’s Drake page, it looks like he does have something else coming up. Under his discography, it says Drake will release a new project called Legend on October 29.
