Controversy over Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O.,” featuring Future and Rick Ross, led to Reebok dropping Rick Ross. Last year, Rick Ross entered a partnership with Reebok, but the company ended it after his date rape line caused controversy. Radio stations pulled music from both Rick Ross and Lil Wayne.
After Reebok dropped Rick Ross from their roster, Meek Mill, Slim Thug, Ace Hood, Tyga, and Rocko, along with other rappers spoke out. Many of them felt Reebok was wrong for dumping Rick Ross. 50 Cent scoffed at Rick Ross being dropped, but those close to him were highly offended.
Swizz Beatz put the above photo up on Instagram earlier today with him and Rick Ross with a Reebok executive. In the message that came along with the photo, Swizz Beatz said “Positive Energy.” All the statements from the rappers have said the same thing, Rick Ross made Reebok relevant again and they owed him more. Perhaps a return is in the works?
