Barely over a week ago, most fans were ready to write the Celtics off, after that 0-2 home start. This season, the NBA’s Eastern Conference was weak, even for the East’s standards. The Celtics’ 53-29 record would barely even get them the four spot out West.

But, in the East, Isaiah Thomas’ crew managed to lock in the top spot with not even 55 wins. Seeing how the team is still relatively young, them matching up with a veteran Chicago Bulls team became a tough spot for them. The Bulls exploited Boston’s weaknesses at the Garden.

Isaiah Thomas went into the postseason with some of the worst news a person can receive, learning his sister died, then he still had to play. It had to hurt to be out there, like that, but Thomas ended up channeling his pain and doing the improbable. As his team leads 3-2, Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley discussed the turnaround with the media.
