This summer, the game is going to belong to J. Cole. Already, J. Cole got the ball rolling with his breakout hit single, “Power Trip.” Featuring longtime collaborator, Miguel, J. Cole went all out with his single. A month after the music video was released, there is still a lot of talk about it.
J. Cole has a lot going on and at the end of June, he plans to return with his sophomore album, Born Sinner. June 25 is the exact release date for the album and it coincides with the release of the next single off the project. It has become clear J. Cole is one of the biggest rappers in the game, as one song changed the dynamics of the year.
A little over a week after the release of Born Sinner, J. Cole will appear in Philadelphia, along with the Roots. They will be performing at Philadelphia’s annual 4th of July Jam. It will be a major event headlined by DJ Jazzy Jeff, Common, Queen Latifah, and Lauryn Hill.
