J. Cole FINALLY Wins First Award at #GRAMMYs For ‘Best Rap Song’ For Feature on 21 Savage’s ‘A Lot’ [VIDEO]

The 62nd GRAMMY awards are taking place in Los Angeles at STAPLES Center tonight. Alicia Keys will be hosting the ceremony but it’s been a very dark vibe this afternoon with the passing of Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant. Nonetheless, the show must go on and early award winners are being announced.
Best Rap Song has just been announced and the winner is ‘A Lot” by 21 Savage featuring J. Cole. This appeared on Savage’s second studio album, “I Am > I Was.” This also marks Cole finally receiving a GRAMMY Award. Cole still hasn’t won a solo GRAMMY though as ‘Best Rap Performance‘ just went to the late Nipsey Hussle for his last single, ‘Racks In The Middle’ featuring Roddy Ricch.
Despite still not having a solo GRAMMY award, this is still huge for Cole. He has been snubbed for years now and it’s great to see him be recognized. His verse on A Lot was solid and displayed his solid bars as usual. Other nominees in this category included “Bad Idea” by Chance The Rapper feat. YBN Cordae, “Gold Roses” by Rick Ross feat. Drake, “Racks In The Middle” by Nipsey Hussle feat. Roddy Ricch, and “Suge” by DaBaby.
