J. Cole goes platinum with “4 Your Eyez Only,” his second consecutive album to do so, and Twitter celebrates

Words cannot describe how proud everyone is of J. Cole back home. He still represents Fayetteville in his lyrics, even though he’s spent most of the past decade with Jay Z. Don’t forget that J. Cole was the first artist signed to Roc Nation.

It’s hard to imagine there was once a time when it looked like J. Cole would never drop an album. But, since Cole World was released, it looks as if J. Cole always drops a surprise album. His release of 4 Your Eyez Only mirrored his 2014 album release.

The results are also becoming eerily similar, as J. Cole went without a feature for two straight albums. With the album also delivering some singles that built a cult following, J. Cole got another big plaque. Just like 2015, J. Cole has gone platinum with no features, which prior to him, had not been done since 1991.
