A few years ago, J. Cole expressed the idea of possibly getting an NBA tryout. The Detroit Pistons invited him, but it didn’t appear that Cole ended up getting that tryout. Cole had some prior basketball experience, as he was a walk-on at St. John’s University.

Last summer, Cole finally played professional basketball. He signed with the Rwanda Patriots, of the Basketball Africa League. Cole signed a very short contract, as he played for less than two weeks, and played in three games. He also totaled five points, three assist, and five rebounds. Cole went on to express how grateful he was, for that experience.

Now, Cole is back to ballin’ again. According to Shams Charania of Yahoo!, he has just signed with the Scarborough Shooting Stars, of the Canadian Elite Basketball League. The team’s training camp started this week, and the regular season will kick off on May 26.

This also comes after Cole and his Dreamville record label put out a joint mixtape last month, with DJ Drama, “D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape.” Cole also had his sixth straight number one album in 2021, with “The Off-Season.”
