On Friday night, the Miami Heat stunned the Boson Celtics on the road, once again, in the Eastern Conference Finals. They scored a 111-105 win, to take a 2-0 series lead. Jimmy Butler, Caleb Martin, and Bam Adebayo all carried the Heat to another impressive upset, as an eight seed.

During the game, the TNT broadcast revealed how free agent Caleb Martin got an opportunity with the Heat, in 2021. This was done so with the help of J. Cole, who told assistant coach and former NBA player Caron Butler about Martin. Martin was initially undrafted, and left the Charlotte Hornets in 2021, after two seasons. Cole and Martin are also both North Carolina natives.

As a result, Heat Head Coach Eric Spoelstra invited Martin to a scrimmage. Therefore, he impressed the staff, and went on to be signed to the roster. He’s been a very underrated role player for Miami, as the team is now two wins away from their second NBA Finals in four seasons.

Meanwhile, Cole has also been on a huge feature run. He’s on Lil Durk’s new “All My Life” single, as well as “To Summer, From Cole,” which is the intro on Summer Walker’s new “Clear 2: Soft Life” EP.
