J. Prince talks Rap-A-Lot Records, Beyonce, Drake, No Limit, Master P, and more with Bun B at SXSW [VIDEO]

J. Prince Bun BMuch credit for the emergence of Southern hip hop goes to Master P and the 2 Live Crew. Definitely, they deserve a lot of credit, as does Jermaine Dupri, but J. Prince was the first one. Doing it from the business end, he created Rap-A-Lot Records.

Along the way, J. Prince gave some valuable advice to Master P and many others. It was Rap-A-Lot Records that put the South on the map and it remains a strong force to this day. During SXSW, J. Prince was tapped to be the keynote speaker.

J. Prince spoke with Bun B, one half of UGK, one of Rap-A-Lot’s most-successful artists. During the interview, J. Prince spoke on everything, so it’s hard to mention it all. But, he spoke on his involvement with Beyonce, Drake, Death Row Records, Master P, and much more.
