But, Murder Inc. lacked an in-house Bonnie to Ja Rule’s Clyde. They found that and more in Ashanti and their first offering went straight to the top of Billboard’s Hot 100. In a short period of time, Ja Rule made classics with Ashanti.
However, the past decade plus has seen Ja Rule and Ashanti as virtual non-factors in the music industry. The good thing about the hit records they had is that they can last forever. Ja Rule and Ashanti have announced their Natural Born Killers tour, which will likely sell out, as it launches on August 25.
