Last week was fantastic for Ja Rule, as he finally released his comeback album in the form of Pain is Love 2. Eight years had passed since Ja Rule released a new project and the album was met with positive review. For someone to have gone through as much as Ja Rule, it was a great week for him. However, the downside to the success was the fact he was in prison, serving a two-year sentence.

Ja Rule was also celebrating his birthday and he used a birthday call to conduct an interview with Hip Hop Nation. Prisoners of Riker’s Island are granted birthday calls, but they are used to talk to people wishing the prisoner a happy birthday. While the popular Sirius XM radio station wished Ja Rule a happy birthday, they also did an interview, which was against the rules.

Punishment for the interview will lead to Ja Rule being placed into a seven-day work detail. The administration over the prison is also angry with Ja Rule because of his interview with The New York Daily News. In that interview, Ja Rule discussed the relationships he was building with fellow prisoners, which is classified information.
