Ja Rule says he wishes he never stopped making music

Ja Rule was one of the most successful artists of the early 2000s. During that period of time, Rule couldn’t miss. When it came to singles, he was the biggest rapper in the game. Once he got his first hit, he didn’t look back. However, Ja Rule had the misfortune of being the sole target of 50 Cent, who was in the midst of releasing the most successful debut album of all-time. Now, Ja Rule is in the studio with Hitmaka, and is saying he wished he didn’t stop making music.

Ja Rule also is the victim of revisionist history. While he took a major loss to 50 Cent in 2003, he had a strong comeback in 2007. After being dissed by 50, Rule had a top five single with R. Kelly. His 2004 single, “Wonderful,” was number five on Billboard Hot 100. In addition, he recruited Fat Joe and Jadakiss for his “New York” single. Not only was that song a street anthem, but also, the record became an anthem for the whole New York City. Despite that success, Rule stopped putting music out.

Ja Rule attempted a comeback in 2007 and had a single with Lil Wayne. Also, he had another single with the singer, Ashley Joi, that had potential. “The Murder Inc. Story” revealed Universal refused to put much money behind promoting that effort. Seventeen years later, things have changed. Now, Rule is in the studio working on his new album. Hitmaka is providing production. As a result, Rule is enjoying his music, and said he wished he kept putting music out.
