Ja Rule talks $100 million deal and Ashanti and Nelly

Ja Rule sparked tons of discussion, and laughter, when he announced he signed a contract that was worth $100 million. The laughter comes from how his career has gone, post-2003. These jokes are intensified because of his association with Fyre Festival. However, all of this overlooks what Ja Rule’s actual contributions to hip hop are. He visited Tamron Hall and told her about the deal.

Ja Rule took over as soon as the year 2000 started. His mainstream career began with him being one third of a trio with Jay-Z and DMX. By 2000, Rule was easily the most popular rapper out of the three. In the 2001-2002 period, Rule was selling more than both of them. At the same time, he was dropping number one singles on Billboard Hot 100 with Jennifer Lopez and Mary J. Blige.

Ja Rule was recently on “The Tamron Hall Show,” where he spoke on his $100 million contract. This deal centers around touring, where Rule still makes millions of dollars a year. He briefly spoke on this, before offering his two cents on Ashanti getting back with Nelly. Among other things, Rule said he’s not surprised they found their way back to each other.
