Many credit Ja Rule for being the prototype for what Drake does, but he was actually a hardcore rapper, before he took that turn. The Murder Inc. rapper was once one third of a group, with Jay-Z and DMX. His partner, Irv Gotti, was the force behind the trio.

Recently, Ja Rule sat down with Geto Boys, for their podcast, and he spoke on his legendary career. In this segment, he was asked about the Murder Inc. group, with Jay-Z and DMX. Rule explained how Jay and X were the major stars, at the time, and that was why the group didn’t flourish, so he decided to begin his solo career.
