Jacquees was forced to remove his version of “Trip” by Ella Mai, after his version received more attention than hers; Fans on Twitter react, saying his version made them like Ella Mai’s, and he had the better of the two

This summer, Ella Mai was the sudden breakout artist. Delivering her single, “Boo’d Up,” it became the summer 2018 anthem. What’s crazy is how the record was actually released during the early part of 2017, but flew under the radar.

Jacquees has definitely been an artist that is making moves. The past two years, Jacquees was making noise, signed to Cash Money Records at a time when they have suffered. As of late, he’s made more of a name for himself doing remixes.

When Jacquees previewed his version of Ella Mai’s “Trip,” fans were immediately drawn to it. The fans loved the record, but that led to some controversy, as Jacquees was forced to remove the song. But, the fans have continued showing his version of the song support.
