After a five year gap between albums, Jadakiss vowed to never make his fans wait that long for a new album. Jadakiss revealed he had plans to release a new album every year, filling the void left by Jay-Z. On the heels of The Last Kiss, Jadakiss revealed his plans to release Top 5 Dead or Alive.
However, circumstances have kept the album coming out in a timely matter. Each year, the album continues to be delayed. In 2011, Jadakiss released his I Love You retail mixtape as a holdover. Once the album did not come in 2012, Jadakiss released Consignment, another album worthy mixtape.
Recently, Jadakiss was in Philadelphia performing at Power 99’s Springfest 2013. At the show, he caught up with MinaSayWhat. During the interview, Jadakiss talked about the changes at Def Jam, his new album being close to completion, a tour with The L.O.X., their new album, and working with Kendrick Lamar.
