Coming into the 2018 NBA Playoffs, James Harden found himself in a much different position. He found himself the leader of the NBA’s best team. Since 2015, the Golden State Warriors have been the team to beat, and Harden’s Rockets have lagged.

Last season, the Rockets showed a lot of promise, but just couldn’t keep up with the Spurs. This year, adding Chris Paul proved to be a crucial move, changing the team’s dynamic. Despite their success, coming into Game 1, the Rockets struggled with Minnesota.

James Harden had to drop 44 points to keep the Rockets from going down in an embarrassing way. After his strong performance, Harden talked to Kristen Ledlow. He explained that the Timberwolves are not a typical eight seed, the Rockets were shooting bad, and how their defense won it for them.
