James Harden torn between Rockets return or staying in Philly
James Harden joined the Philadelphia 76ers a year ago and has made good memories there. However, he still has yet to win an NBA championship. As a result, Harden is rumored to be returning to the Houston Rockets. Harden leaving the Rockets in 2021, turned them from being a playoff contender to being one of the NBA’s worst teams. However, they have been rebuilding and have a solid young core. In addition, Ime Udoka has been hired as their coach. Now Harden has interests in returning, but he is also leaning towards staying in Philadelphia.
James Harden put the Houston Rockets back on the map when he was traded there. Previously, he was a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. After his role in their 2012 Finals run, Harden was going to command a lot of attention as a free agent. Given his position as the third scoring option, OKC traded him to get value back for him. As a result, the Rockets instantly became a playoff contender. Harden peaked with them in 2018, winning the MVP, and leading the Rockets to a 65-17 record.
James Harden forced his way out of Houston in 2021. As a result, they traded him to the Brooklyn Nets, where he joined Kyrie Irving. In addition, he reunited with Kevin Durant. However, the Philadelphia 76ers were his first choice. After the Nets imploded, Harden was traded to Philly in 2021. Despite Joel Embiid’s MVP win this year, the Sixers lost in the second round again. With Harden facing free agency, he is considering returning to the Rockets. However, he reportedly also likes the idea of staying in Philly.
