Ja’net Dubois is dead at 74 years old, best-known as star on “Good Times” and for singing “The Jeffersons” theme song

The world got to know Ja’net Dubois, on “Good Times,” where she played the loyal neighbor, Willona. She was always going back-and-forth with James (John Amos), but a good friend to Florida (Esther Rolle). Now, she is the second member of the cast to pass away.
Ja’net Dubois was still overcoming a major loss, in her own family, at the time of her death. Just a few months ago, Dubois revealed her son died. Only months later, she has also passed away, leaving their family reeling.
This afternoon, TMZ broke the news of the pioneering actress’ death. In her “Good Times” role, Ja’net Dubois got to play the TV mom of a very young Janet Jackson, in her first role, as ‘Penny.’ Outside of “Good Times,” she sang “The Jeffersons'” theme song.
