Jason Derulo recently announced his tour, but he is facing some serious accusations. One of his former artists has filed a lawsuit against him. A woman named Emaza is leveling accusations of sexual harassment against Derulo. She was once signed to Jason, via the group Ceraadi. According to Emaza, when she turned down Derulo’s advancements, he dropped her from the label. Now, Jason Derulo is speaking out against these claims.
Jason Derulo initially rose to fame in 2008. Many may forget this, but the first major song he appeared on featured Mims, of “This Is Why I’m Hot” fame. During that time, Jason Derulo was still a local singer in Miami. Two years later, he resurfaced, and he would go onto become one of the biggest names in pop music. That 2008-2010 period saw a lot of Miami artist rise from the hip hop/R&B lane to find tremendous success in the pop market.
Jason Derulo is currently facing a lawsuit from Emaza, formerly of Ceraadi. She has accused Derulo of sexually harassing her. In her lawsuit, she claims that Derulo made sexual advances towards her. When she rebuffed his advances, Emaza claims that he dropped her from his label. As a result, she has now filed a lawsuit against him. However, Derulo has now shared a video message, where he is denying the allegations. In addition, he said Emaza’s suit is “deeply offensive.”
