When Jay-Z started Roc Nation, he embraced the new age Southern rappers. His first two artists signed were J. Cole and Jay Electronica, from the cities of Fayetteville, North Carolina and New Orleans. While it took both a long time to release their debut album, it took Jay longer.
Jay Electronica actually is still making the fans wait on his debut album release. This hasn’t stopped him from becoming a major force in hip hop, even taking on The Game at one point. Hip hop needs more strong voices to carry the culture to new heights.
Hip hop has never been embraced as strongly as it is now and the rappers are making smart moves with this new look. Jay Electronica is currently touring in Europe and he is stopping by Oxford University. Taking to his Instagram, Jay Electronica revealed he and Dr. Wesley Muhammed will be giving a lecture on Islam and the Western civilization.
