In 2008, Cash Money Records was on top of the world, as Lil Wayne finally realized his potential. Then, the label began to expand, adding the likes of Drake, Bow Wow, Nicki Minaj, Jay Sean, and many big names. The label even added some other labels.

However, in 2014, Cash Money Records saw the losses of Tyga, Busta Rhymes, Jay Sean, DJ Khaled, and others. Even Lil Wayne is demanding to be released from the label. Upon leaving, Hip Hop Vibe talked to Jay Sean about his choice to leave the label.

Jay Sean stopped by J Cruz’s “The Cruz Show” to discuss “Make My Love Go,” featuring Sean Paul. He also explained why he left Cash Money Records and Birdman being cool with it. During the interview, Jay Sean spoke on now doing organic records and having tracks with the aforementioned Tyga and Ace Hood, among many others.
