Jay-Z breaks down his plans for TIDAL in Q&A
Early this year, Jay-Z started off with big news, which is what the world has come to expect from him. It’s less about his music and more about his business ventures. When he made his 2006 return, Jay-Z addressed his career and said he isn’t a rapper, but instead a hustler disguised as one.
Jay-Z went over and beyond what many expect from a traditional hustler, as he became a corporate mogul. Owning stakes in NBA teams and talent agencies wasn’t enough for him. Instead, he went on to trade in his NBA ownership for sports management to go along with his other ventures.
TIDAL, his new music streaming service, is not just another venture to Jay-Z, however. He teamed up with many of his industry friends to put together a new business to give the power of the music back to the artists. While there are plenty of questions about TIDAL, Jay-Z answered all of them in a Q&A transcribed by one of the writers on The Fader.
