Jay Z Hires Attorney Alex Spiro To Help 21 Savage In Immigration Case Against ICE; Jay Says What’s Happening To 21 Is An “Absolute Travesty”

21 Savage remains in ICE custody after being arrested on Sunday for not being in the United States illegally. They found that 21 was born in the U.K. He came to Atlanta 13 years ago but his visa expired in 2006.

Artists have been asking for justice for 21 as they’ve been calling out ICE for having a hidden agenda against 21. 21 recently did a performance addressing immigration in America and now they’re all of a sudden after him. Now, Jay Z is taking a stand as he’s hired attorney Alex Spiro for 21 to take on this immigration case. 21’s U Visa has been pending for four years now and Hov made that point as he’s calling his situation an “absolute travesty,” according to TMZ.

“We are not going to stop until he is released, bonded out or in front of a judge,” said Spiro. “What we have here is someone who overstayed their Visa with an application pending for 4 years – not a convicted criminal that needs to be detained and removed but, by all accounts a wonderful person, father, and entertainer who has a marijuana offense which was vacated and sealed.”

Sources close to TMZ also say that four years ago after 21’s drug conviction was removed, he was able to apply for this visa again after. Since then, 21 hasn’t received a yes or no on that. The ICE is also supposed to release him on bond as opposed to keeping him in custody where he’s been on 23-hour lockdown with no communication. They’ve been treating him as if he’s some criminal.

Salute to Jay Z for always taking a stand against racial injustices in America. He continues to use his platform for good and continues to be one of the most influential people in hip-hop outside of music. Hopefully Alex Spiro can help bring justice. He recently represented Bobby Shmurda in his case.
